Ripple CEO Garlinghouse: Regulatory clarity is now closer than ever before
2026-08-22 22:49:02
According to CoinMeta, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse stated that he attended the first meeting of the Innovation Advisory Committee of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in Washington, D.C. this week. Garlinghouse described the attendees as a “Olympic lineup of the crypto industry,” bringing together many traditional financial giants such as Nasdaq, CME, CBOE, OCC, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), and DTCC. He pointed out that all parties agreed that the rules established for the old era are no longer applicable to today's consumers, businesses, and innovations. Since writing to Congress in 2019, the industry's demand for clear regulatory rules has continued to this day, and with the push from the Trump administration, the appointed officials, and congressional leaders, we are now “unprecedentedly close” to achieving regulatory clarity.
