GoPlusSecurity: Attackers hijack the contract permissions of LayerZero to mint unsupported $SAN
2026-08-23 10:21:48
According to CoinMeta, GoPlusSecurity reported that on August 21st, attackers hijacked the delegation permissions of the LayerZero Omnichain Fungible Token contract, forged cross-chain messages, and began to mint unlimited amounts of unsupported $SAN tokens, resulting in trillions of tokens being printed. Due to liquidity and reserve constraints, the losses were limited to about $670,000. The affected wallets included: 0x67624bfadee937c9281b4f98ce18af1bee01257e, 0x07bc449e85d9b66899425df8c8ab49cfb44a5f1e, etc. GoPlusSecurity recommends that project parties disable any calling functions and monitor related events, while users have been warned not to trade $SAN on Base or BSC to avoid contaminating liquidity.
