Registration Status of Corporate Accounts at 5 Major Cryptocurrency Exchanges in South Korea

According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Yonhap News, as of the end of July 2026, five major cryptocurrency exchanges in South Korea had registered a total of 6,590 corporate accounts. Among them, Bithumb led with 3,280 accounts, followed by Upbit with 2,086 accounts, with the two together accounting for 81.4%. Only 711 corporate accounts had completed customer identity verification (KYC), which is 10.8%, while there were only 29 active accounts among general corporations that actually conducted transactions, staking, or withdrawals that month. The relevant corporations held approximately 43.38 billion Korean won in cryptocurrency assets, of which 62.4% was held through Upbit. South Korean regulatory authorities are promoting a phased approach to allowing corporations to invest in cryptocurrency assets and conduct financial management transactions using the Korean won.
