According to CoinMeta, as reported by Nikkei News, Japan's Green Transformation Acceleration Agency ( gx ) has invested in two startups focusing on nuclear fusion and plastic recycling, providing a total of 20 billion yen (approximately 125 million US dollars) in public-private partnership funds. This investment is part of a broader plan by the Japanese government to allocate 370 trillion yen (over 2.3 trillion US dollars) in public and private funds to 17 strategic areas by the fiscal year 2040, which is a key pillar of Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga's growth and decarbonization strategy. The two companies invested in are Kyoto Fusion Engineering Corporation and jeplan Company, and details of the investment are expected to be announced soon. Japan hopes to encourage more private sector investment by providing public capital and to accelerate the commercialization process of advanced technologies.
