According to CoinMeta, citing the views of Lewis Black, the CEO of Almonty Industries, the global tungsten supply is in short supply. Demand from the AI industry, semiconductors, and defense sectors is growing, and China's export policies are affecting the supply chain. Japan's Kanto Denka and Central Glass companies have stopped production on July 1st due to an inability to obtain high-purity tungsten powder. Samsung and SK Hynix are seeking new suppliers, and the market expects the price of WF to rise by 70% to 90% in the second half of the year. A Chinese company has announced an additional annual production capacity of 1,000 tons of WF. In the Western market, the price of APT exceeds $3,000 per ton, and the tight tungsten supply is spreading to the cemented carbide and cutting tool industries.
