Tether CEO: The adoption of USDT in Sogo is continuously growing
2026-08-24 13:05:40
According to CoinMeta, on August 23, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that multiple developing economies are becoming increasingly dependent on USDT for domestic commerce, international trade, and dollar-denominated savings. He mentioned that Venezuela, Argentina, Bolivia, and Turkey are markets where people use stablecoins in response to inflation, currency devaluation, limited access to dollars, and constraints of traditional financial systems. Ardoino pointed out that the financial inclusion mission of Tether has become even more important. Although there is no single public dataset to measure the extent to which entire countries' economies depend on USDT, independent blockchain research, central bank data, and transaction activities support the broader conclusion that dollar stablecoins have gained attention in these markets. USDT is aimed at tracking the dollar, allowing users to gain exposure to digital dollars without the need to hold a U.S. bank account.
