According to CoinMeta, Japan has officially ended a four-year freeze on cryptocurrencies. The Laser Digital supported by Nomura has just obtained Japan's first new cryptocurrency exchange license in four years. This exchange will initially provide liquidity for licensed local cryptocurrency companies, and then expand to institutional trading. This move comes after Japan has classified cryptocurrencies as financial products, paving the way for possible ETF and tax reforms. Surveys show that 79% of Japanese institutions plan to purchase cryptocurrencies within three years.
