According to CoinMeta, a subsidiary of Deutsche Börse Group, Clearstream will participate in the testing of the European Central Bank’s Pontes distributed ledger settlement scheme in preparation for its launch on September 21st. The testing will cover end-to-end settlement, system connectivity, and operational readiness, with a focus on verifying the interoperability between traditional market infrastructure and the DLT platform. Pontes aims to integrate wholesale financial transactions based on DLT into the euro system Target Services, supporting real-time full-settlement of central bank currency DVP through on-chain cash tokens or the T2 real-time full-settlement system, thereby further advancing the development of Europe’s tokenized capital market infrastructure.
