According to CoinMeta, and as reported by A early issuer of in, last week hedge funds recorded their largest net selling volume of U.S. stocks since the "Liberation Day" week in April 2025, ending a streak of three consecutive weeks of net buying. Individual stocks accounted for about 53% of the total selling volume, with 9 out of 11 industries experiencing net selling, mainly concentrated in the technology, industrial, utilities, healthcare, and materials sectors. Index futures and macro products such as ETF accounted for about 47% of the total selling volume. Hedge funds slightly increased their short positions in U.S.-listed ETF stocks, ending a six-week streak of short covering, and are now reducing their long positions in U.S. equities.
