This will mark the first upgrade for the Mac mini in nearly two years. Apple has been testing versions equipped with M5 and M6 series chips, although the final configurations have not yet been determined. Due to the Mac mini being cheaper, more power-efficient, and quieter, an increasing number of users are using them for local running of large models and AI agent. This year, the Mac mini were once sold out on Apple's official website, and second-hand platforms even started selling them at a premium. In May, Apple raised the price of the 256GB entry-level version to $799, and Cook stated that the tight supply of Mac mini is expected to continue for some time.
