Gold prices fall from three-month highs, analysts say there is still good support in the short term

According to CoinMeta, gold prices fell on Tuesday after reaching their highest level in over three months earlier in the session. Investors' attention has now shifted to the upcoming U.S. inflation data and remarks by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell later this week. Market analyst Tony Sycamore stated, "Looking ahead, we expect strong buying support when gold prices correct." Last week, the U.S. Treasury Department announced that it would double the scale of its liquidity support repurchase operations for longer-term Treasurys and bonds, which led to a significant increase in gold prices. This news sparked concerns about a depreciation of the U.S. dollar. TD Securities noted, "Given that the Federal Reserve has not yet sent a clear signal indicating its readiness to address rising inflation, these concerns should provide strong support for gold in the coming weeks. However, it is still too early to expect a substantial rise in gold prices, considering that interest rates may ultimately rise in the short term as crude oil prices continue to climb."
