According to CoinMeta, the Thai Securities and Exchange Commission announced that it has advanced the planned framework for Bitcoin and Ethereum to the draft regulatory stage, setting a minimum exposure requirement of 80%, while maintaining domestic digital asset custodians as the primary option for custody. On August 24th, the commission stated that it had conducted two public consultations regarding the draft rules for local cryptocurrencies and the qualification standards for foreign digital asset custodians. Under the draft, locally established cryptocurrencies will only be traded on the Thai Stock Exchange, and investors will be able to obtain exposure to Bitcoin or Ethereum through their securities accounts without the need to directly manage cryptocurrency wallets. Each cryptocurrency must maintain at least 80% of its net asset value to the average net exposure of its underlying cryptocurrency within each fiscal year.
