According to CoinMeta, as introduced on the official website of Apple (AAPL.O), the newly launched M5 Ultra chip is equipped with a large capacity of 512GB of high-bandwidth unified memory and provides a unified memory bandwidth of up to 1.2TB/s, which is 50% higher than that of M3 Ultra. This allows users to store massive datasets entirely in local memory, increasing the number of token generated per second, and to run ultra-large language models (LLM) with billions of parameters entirely on the device side. The M6 chip supports up to 32GB of unified memory, enabling it to handle multiple high-load applications simultaneously and to run large language models (LLM) on the device side to perform secure and privacy-conscious AI intelligent tasks. In addition, M6 also offers a unified memory bandwidth of up to 170GB/s, which is a 10% increase from M5 and 2.5 times higher than that of M1.
