IMF President warns of rising fiscal risks, calls on countries to control debt deficits

According to CoinMeta, IMF President Georgieva urged governments around the world to address the rising fiscal risks, stating that "all countries need to solve their own fiscal problems and develop and announce credible plans to ensure that debt and deficits are on a sustainable track." She also called on central banks to "focus heavily on their responsibility for price stability." Georgieva noted that the global economy is under pressure due to high inflation and trade tensions, but growth driven by investments in artificial intelligence has partially offset these impacts. She mentioned that the energy shocks caused by the Iran war have not yet ended, and the global economy is facing a tug-of-war between "negative supply shocks from the Middle East" and "positive demand shocks brought about by artificial intelligence." She also warned that energy supply, El Niño weather patterns, and the impact of artificial intelligence on financial stability remain major risks.
