El Salvador's willingness to pay with Bitcoin is declining, and merchants' acceptance has become voluntary.

According to CoinMeta, Salvadoran Bitcoin core contributor Jon Atack revealed that a restaurant in the famous surfing town of El Zonte (also known as "Bitcoin Beach"), informed him that the lunch payment made that day was the only Bitcoin transaction received by the shop that month. Some employees even stated that they had forgotten how to use the Bitcoin payment software, indicating that daily payment transactions using Bitcoin have become less common. Analysts point out that as more people begin to view Bitcoin more as a form of savings rather than a medium of exchange, and given that card payments are now more convenient, the willingness to make daily transactions on the blockchain has significantly declined. In addition, after El Salvador reached a loan agreement with IMF, relevant regulations were revised, and merchants' acceptance of Bitcoin payments has shifted from mandatory to voluntary.
