According to CoinMeta, Zhipu announced the adoption of Ox Alpha, stating that this is its first multimodal model, which will be open-sourced tonight with the model weights made public. Ox Alpha made an anonymous debut on OpenRouter over the weekend and quickly became the most used model on the platform after being made free, with usage exceeding that of DeepSeek by more than twice. This model is mainly aimed at programming and long-duration agent tasks, and it supports text, image, and video inputs. Zhipu will also allow everyone to use Ox Alpha for free for one week; however, the charging method after that has not yet been announced. Previously, the community had identified it as belonging to Zhipu through clues such as API errors and the tokenizer. Now that the official has directly acknowledged it, this round of "model guessing" games is essentially over.
