According to CoinMeta, despite handing over the role of CEO of Berkshire Hathaway to his long-time deputy Greg Abel at the end of last year, Warren Buffett still exerts significant influence on investment decisions. Recent disclosures of Berkshire's investment portfolio show that Buffett increased his holdings in the parent company of Google, Alphabet, by 83% in the second quarter, holding nearly 106 million shares worth about $38 billion, making it Berkshire's third-largest U.S. stock position. In an interview with CNBC, Buffett stated that investing in Alphabet was his decision, dispelling speculation that Abel made the investment. In the second quarter, Berkshire also purchased $23.5 billion worth of shares and only sold $3.7 billion, ending a 14-quarter streak of net sales.
