According to CoinMeta, on August 25th, World Liberty Financial announced the expansion of its USD1 stablecoin to the Canton network, with the aim of supporting the tokenization of real assets. This launch enables dollars-backed tokens to be natively available through Canton's privacy and permission framework. The integration has moved the plan, first announced in December 2025, towards real-time network availability, placing stable settlement assets within an infrastructure built around regulated finance, collateral, and tokenized securities. World Liberty Financial states that USD1 can serve as a cash leg for tokenized asset transactions, allowing institutions to configure this token for settlements involving real assets. The announcement on August 25th listed support uses such as derivative collateral and institutional lending, while also mentioning cross-border payments, asset issuance, financing, redemption, and institutional financing. Canton indicates that native issuance allows for atomic settlement of cash and asset legs in a single transaction. This design limits transaction visibility while maintaining interoperability across applications. Canton reports that over $9 trillion in tokenized assets are processed or issued each month, with more than $350 billion in U.S. Treasurys being processed daily on average.
