According to CoinMeta, major U.S. banks, including Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Santander, among more than a dozen other major banks, are advancing plans to launch crypto-stablecoins. According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, a consortium of state bank associations plans to launch Bankchain Alliance in the first half of 2027, which is a blockchain platform that supports stablecoins. Although some executives were skeptical about the demand for stablecoins in the early stages, these banks are now welcoming their emergence, as non-bank companies such as Visa, Blackstone, Google, and DoorDash have already entered the market and achieved success.
