According to CoinMeta, as reported by American media on the 26th, diesel inventories in the United States have dropped to their lowest level for the same period in history. With the increasing demand for oil in agriculture and for winter heating, diesel prices, which are already close to record highs, may rise further. Data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration shows that as of the week ending August 21, diesel fuel inventories in the U.S. were 103.4 million barrels, a decrease of 2.2 million barrels from the previous week and about 14% lower than the average level for the same period over the past five years. Bloomberg analysis indicates that current inventories are at their lowest level for this time of year. Data released by the American Automobile Association shows that on August 26, the average retail price of diesel across the U.S. was $5.62 per gallon, higher than $3.7 a year ago and approaching the record high of $5.82 per gallon set in June 2022.
