According to CoinMeta, as reported by Digital Asset, South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb won the first-instance lawsuit in a claim regarding a mistake in the distribution of Bitcoin, with the court ordering users to return approximately 194 million Korean won (about $145,000). In February of this year, Bithumb mistakenly distributed 620,000 Bitcoins as rewards for an event, subsequently initiated a recovery process, and reported in March that 99% of the mistakenly distributed Bitcoins had been recovered. This is the first judgment among four lawsuits filed against users who did not return the Bitcoins, and the basis for the court's decision as well as whether the defendants will appeal have not yet been disclosed.
