2026-08-27 15:03:09
According to CoinMeta, as disclosed by three informed sources on the 26th, David Ratcliffe, the director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), recently visited Russia. His primary concern was to warn Russia not to attack NATO member countries, especially the three Baltic states, and to use this rare confidential visit to pressure Russia to reduce its support for Iran. This claim has not been acknowledged by U.S. President Donald Trump or the CIA. Among the three informed sources is an official from the British government. On the 25th, Ratcliffe made a surprise visit to Moscow, the capital of Russia, via a U.S. military transport plane, becoming the first known CIA director to visit Russia during Trump's two terms as president. The previous CIA director to visit Russia was William Burns, during the tenure of former President Joe Biden in November 2021.
