2026-08-27 17:53:56
According to CoinMeta, Starkware successfully completed the first quantum-safe transaction on the Bitcoin mainnet on August 26th. The transaction was confirmed in Bitcoin block 964,199, utilizing Starkware's QSB method. This transaction involved 10,000 Bitcoins, demonstrating that Bitcoin can be protected against quantum attacks without changing existing rules. However, the cost of this process is approximately $150 to $200, which may be too expensive for ordinary users. Starkware's CEO, Eli Ben - Sasson, stated that this successful transaction provides Bitcoin holders with an option to protect their assets before the permanent network upgrade.
