Trump plans to meet with refiners to lower oil prices
2026-08-28 04:12:51
According to CoinMeta, Trump is expected to meet with American refiners and fuel retailers next week to discuss measures to reduce gasoline prices. As the mid-term elections in Congress in November approach, the Trump administration is seeking to alleviate the pressure on consumers caused by the Iran war. Companies expected to attend the meeting include Valero Energy, Marathon Petroleum, and PBF Energy, among others. Currently, the price of regular gasoline in the United States remains above $4 per gallon, about $1 higher than a year ago. The Iran war has disrupted the global energy market, leading to a tightening supply of gasoline and other refined products. Trump has criticized oil companies for not taking more steps to reduce costs and has pressured major oil producers.
