Cardano Network Achieves 6x Increase in Throughput through Leios Test Network
2026-08-28 09:16:04
According to CoinMeta, the Cardano blockchain network achieved a throughput increase of approximately six times that of the current mainnet during its first public Leios test. The test lasted for 41 days, and during the final stable phase, it handled 54% of the on-chain traffic, with a trading volume 18 times that of the mainnet. This test provided developers with the opportunity to identify and fix system issues, all of which stemmed from code flaws rather than weaknesses in the protocol itself. Leios is intended to increase capacity without replacing the security model of Cardano, serving as an overlay layer to Ouroboros Praos. This technological progress may support the long-term price prospects of Cardano, but the Leios test itself does not determine the price trend of ADA. Market demand, liquidity, and broader crypto conditions will still play a significant role.
