Bitcoin faces high volatility; investors need to pay attention
2026-08-28 15:14:13
According to CoinMeta, Bitcoin ($BTC) broke through $80,000 earlier this week, achieving its best performance of the year, with a rise of over 25% in the past 14 days and a month. However, BTC is currently facing significant resistance at $80,000 and is expected to experience greater volatility in the coming days. On Friday, Bitcoin options worth $6.36 billion will expire, with approximately 81,000 contracts maturing, and the maximum strike price is $69,000. The put/call ratio for these options is 0.85, which could lead to sharp price fluctuations. Additionally, the recent rise may have been driven by the U.S. Treasury Department's increased bond repurchases, but this liquidity may flow back out of the crypto market, putting pressure on Bitcoin.
