According to CoinMeta, as reported by digitalasset, the member of New Zealand's ruling coalition, the act party, has announced a policy plan titled "Liberating New Zealand's Digital Economy." The plan proposes six digital finance reforms, including tax exemption on investment returns for individual investors who hold digital assets for at least one year, tax exemption on small payments of digital assets below a certain amount, and the establishment of a separate regulatory and tax framework for stablecoins and RWA. The act party stated that individuals who purchase eligible digital assets are still required to pay taxes if they sell them within 12 months of purchase; however, sales made after more than 12 months are exempt from taxation. Professional traders and enterprises will continue to be subject to the current tax regime. The party also plans to clarify the legal and tax standards for tokenized securities and RWA, covering assets such as unlisted companies, infrastructure, renewable energy, farms, and commercial real estate.
