According to CoinMeta, and as reported by a British source, an anonymous British man successfully retrieved funds that were previously trapped in an early Bitcoin exchange after about 12 years. The funds are currently worth approximately 3.3 million pounds. The man invested around 1,500 pounds in Bitcoin in 2011, and by 2014, when the exchange ceased operations, the value of his account had grown to about 4,000 pounds. He was unable to retrieve this money for a long time thereafter. This year, with the assistance of a lawyer, he was able to repossess these funds by proving ownership of the assets. The report also mentions that previous lawsuits among the founders of the exchange involved an additional amount of about 5,500 bitcoins, which are currently worth around 500 million pounds, and some of this may belong to the platform's former British customers.
