According to CoinMeta, Circle has announced that it will deactivate CCTP V1 ( legacy ) on December 1, 2026, and urges developers to migrate to CCTP V2. Starting from October 31, 2026, CCTP V1 will be gradually phased out. If applications are still routing USDC through CCTP V1 contracts, migration must be initiated immediately. CCTP V2 supports both standard and fast transfer modes, hooks programmable features, as well as subsequent integration with public chains. Circle has released migration guidelines to remind developers to update their contracts and routes in order to avoid disruptions in cross-chain USDC transactions.
