Blue Owl leads the investment in IREN with $2.4 billion in AI computing power financing, which will be used to purchase NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra GPU

According to CoinMeta, Blue Owl Capital announced that its managed fund led a $2.4 billion financing for computing power equipment for IREN. The funds will be used to support the latter in purchasing computing infrastructure, including Blackwell Ultra GPU, at the Mackenzie data center park in British Columbia, Canada. The financing consists of a $1.2 billion senior secured term loan and a $1.2 billion senior secured note, with funds to be disbursed in installments based on the progress of hardware delivery and deployment. IREN currently has more than 5GW of global data center development reserves, and this financing will further expand its AI Cloud infrastructure to meet the needs of AI for training and inference.
