Interpol announces results of global anti-fraud operations

According to CoinMeta, the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) announced the results of a global anti-fraud operation codenamed “jackal iv”. The operation was carried out from November 2025 to June 2026 in 22 countries and regions, focusing on combating online financial crimes such as romance scams, cryptocurrency and investment scams, email scams, and money laundering. A total of 58 people were arrested, and the identities of 263 individuals involved in these crimes were confirmed. In South Africa, police raided seven locations in Johannesburg, arresting 39 suspects suspected of carrying out romance and investment scams targeting retirees, seizing $2.67 million, and freezing 257 bank accounts. Romanian police also dismantled an investment scam ring, arresting 11 people and seizing cash, cryptocurrencies, and property related to the crimes.
