The US dollar makes a strong comeback, putting pressure on gold and Bitcoin

According to CoinMeta, the strong rebound of the US dollar has had an adverse effect on gold and Bitcoin. The hawkish shift in Warsh has brought the probability of a rate hike in September close to 50%, driving the DXY index back up to the 100-day moving average. A stronger US dollar means that dollar-hedged assets perform poorly; gold fell by 3.2% during the Jackson Hole Symposium, while Bitcoin still hovers around $78,000 after this week's sell-off.
