According to CoinMeta, there are only 16 days left until the voting on the clear legislation that will determine the future of crypto in the United States. The House of Representatives passed the bill in July 2025 with a vote of 294 to 134, with 78 Democrats voting in favor. The Senate Banking Committee advanced the bill in May 2026 with a vote of 15 to 9, but the overall voting was postponed due to Democratic requests for ethical rules. According to data from Polymarket, the probability of the bill passing has dropped from 82% in February to about 14% today. The closed-door voting is scheduled for September 15th, and a vote of 60 votes is required for it to proceed. If it fails, there will be little hope for the bill in 2026, as there are only 14 working days left until the election break in October. Meanwhile, SEC proposed a "crypto asset regulation" initiative on August 18th, and CFTC Chairperson Selig also instructed the formulation of relevant rules. In any case, crypto regulation is coming, and the only question is whether Congress will enact these rules.
