Polygon fixes verifier security vulnerabilities through Austin and Kyoto hard forks

According to CoinMeta, Polygon Labs addressed multiple security vulnerabilities in its proof-of-stake network through two hard forks, Austin and Kyoto, including a vulnerability that could have forced all validators to perform costly processing due to a single constructed transaction. The validator support team for Polygon disclosed these fixations in a forum post on August 27th, stating that the security fixes related to consensus impacts were deployed privately and were only made public after being verified on the Amoy testnet, followed by protection on the mainnet. The Austin hard fork upgraded Bor to version 2.10.0, resolving two service denial paths related to block processing. The Kyoto hard fork upgraded Heimdall to version 0.11.0, encompassing a wider range of input validation and consensus enhancement fixes. Polygon indicated that all operators must update their software to continue to remain on the standard Polygon POS network.
