According to CoinMeta, the U.S. federal government obtained shares of Anthropic held by former FTX executives Caroline Ellison and Nishad Singh through criminal asset forfeiture proceedings. These shares were then sold in 2025 by US Marshals Service to existing investors of Anthropic. The two individuals initially participated in Anthropic's 2022 financing with investments of approximately $10 million and $40 million respectively, but the specific sale date, buyers, and transaction prices have not been made public. As of June this year, the proceeds from these sales have not yet appeared in the funds received from the bankruptcy property of FTX.
