According to CoinMeta, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakanfidan stated on Monday that Turkey has developed a plan to ensure the safe transportation of food via the Black Sea and is in contact with both Russia and Ukraine. Turkey has previously expressed its willingness to facilitate the restoration of an agreement mediated by the United Nations, which helped Ukraine export food during the war. Fidan noted, "We have developed a plan and are in communication with both parties regarding this plan. If the necessary conditions arise, we are working towards reaching another agreement similar to the food agreement." The "Black Sea Grain Initiative," which was facilitated by Turkey and the United Nations, was reached in July 2022 with the aim of ensuring the safe export of nearly 33 million tons of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea, despite the ongoing war. Russia withdrew from the agreement in 2023, citing severe obstacles to its exports of grain and fertilizers.
