Solana Network Transaction Fees Reach a Seven-Day High; Proposal Passes to Increase Annual Inflation Reduction Rate to 30%
2026-09-01 05:44:49
According to CoinMeta, the network transaction fees for Solana (calculated in SOL) reached a seven-day average of nearly 9,200 SOL on August 27, an increase of over 80% from three months ago. During the same period, the volume of non-voting transactions reached a new high of 191 million, higher than the 88 million from a year ago. The daily fee for Jito validators was 2,073 SOL last week, representing a 26% week-on-week increase. Meanwhile, the proposal "double disinflation" was passed with 67.001% support, raising the annual inflation reduction rate from 15% to 30%, which is expected to result in a reduction of about 18.9 million SOL new coins issued over the next six years. Under this plan, the staking yield is expected to drop from around 5.25% to 2.25% in the third year. Some validators that rely on inflation rewards rather than transaction fees, especially smaller independent operators, may see their profitability affected. The proposal is not expected to directly change the transaction speed or fee levels for ordinary users.
