Despite a loss-making trading day, the major U.S. benchmark indices still managed to achieve monthly gains in August. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures rose by 11 points, S&P 500 index futures increased by less than 0.1%, and Nasdaq 100 index futures remained flat. In August, the S&P 500 index rose by 2.6%, the Nasdaq Composite Index rose by 3.9%, and the Dow Jones rose by 1.3%, marking the fifth consecutive month of gains. However, Wall Street performed poorly at the end of August, with the Dow Jones falling by more than 370 points during regular trading due to rising oil prices that drove up interest rates, following the U.S. strikes against two rocket launchers on Iran's Larak Island.
