According to CoinMeta, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang recently stated that the AI revolution will create hundreds of thousands of new job opportunities, especially for skilled workers such as electricians, plumbers, and carpenters. He pointed out that with the construction of chip factories, packaging facilities, data centers, and AI factories, the demand for skilled workers in the United States will increase significantly. Jensen Huang believes that the technological revolution will change the employment structure; although some jobs will be eliminated, many new ones will also emerge. He predicts that by 2030, there will be about 2.1 million skilled worker positions in the U.S. that are not filled, including approximately 130,000 new electrical worker positions. The construction of data centers is also rapidly expanding employment demand, and QTS expects the number of workers at its project sites to increase from about 10,000 in 2025 to 40,000 by the end of 2026. Jensen Huang described AI infrastructure construction as one of the largest-scale infrastructure projects in human history, and the shortage of skilled workers may become an important bottleneck for the expansion of the AI industry.
