According to CoinMeta, Apple is suing OpenAI for alleged theft of trade secrets by a former employee. OpenAI responded that the lawsuit is "Apple seeking trouble on its own" and accused Apple of trying to hinder the development of its artificial intelligence. OpenAI stated that 400 Apple employees have already joined their team and warned, "Apple cannot stop the next 400 employees from leaving by filing baseless lawsuits." In addition, OpenAI confirmed that their first planned hardware product will be a consumer device developed in collaboration with former Apple design chief Jonny Ive.
