According to CoinMeta, the GitHub repository of the open-source Pi framework has surpassed 100,000 stars, and the official team has also announced that Pi and v2 are about to be launched. Over the past month or so, Pi has been working on rewriting the underlying agent runtime framework. At the end of July, harness and v2 were proposed, with a focus on adding task persistence, crash recovery, and the ability to execute multiple lane tasks in parallel. At the beginning of August, this new design was just put into formal API, and soon after, the team started on harness and v3, re-designing the storage and runtime mechanisms. The goal of the new version of harness is to ensure that agent can continue from the last safe state even if a process crashes, and that multiple agent tasks can still run in parallel within the same session history.
