According to CoinMeta, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has proposed new regulations that officially recognize the application of blockchain technology in securities issuance and share transfers. This reform will modernize transfer agent regulations that have remained largely unchanged since the 1970s and 1980s. The proposal is now in a 60-day public comment period.
