According to CoinMeta, Core DAO announced that due to a small portion of validators receiving more core rewards than the blockchain’s anticipated issuance volume, multiple exchanges decided to restrict token transfers. On September 1st, Core DAO stated that the issue had been controlled, and they prevented so-called “malicious validators” from further withdrawing excess rewards. The network is currently working with validators to make a permanent fix through a forward upgrade, and confirmed transactions will remain unchanged. Core DAO emphasized the safety of user assets and will release a complete technical follow-up report after the response is completed. The project has not yet disclosed details such as the number of cores distributed in this incident, the number of validators involved, or the timing of their receipt of excess rewards.
