FBI also controlled domain names and servers alleged to be used for fundraising and recruitment. These law enforcement actions were authorized by five arrest warrants issued between March 2025 and August 2026; three of these warrants involved the seizure of cryptocurrencies, while the other two targeted the online infrastructure controlled by Hamas' military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigade. Hamas has been designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the U.S. government. The latest announcement describes the charges contained in the arrest warrant affidavits but do not represent a criminal conviction of the individuals who control these addresses, accounts, or servers. The Department of Justice stated that the seized cryptocurrencies were authorized by arrest warrants dated March 25, 2025, June 25, 2025, and October 10, 2025. Investigators said that human resources efforts helped identify a fundraising system that distributed rotating cryptocurrency addresses through encrypted chats and websites. Donors were instructed to send funds to different addresses, making it more difficult to track the fundraising network.
