Bessent: The largest AI company in the United States failed to effectively explain itself to the public

According to CoinMeta, Bessent states that the largest AI company in the United States is doing “terribly” when it comes to explaining itself to the public. He pointed out that neither the builders of the data centers nor the laboratories themselves have been able to communicate effectively. The Secretary of the Treasury gave the industry a D-, but stated that slowing down is not an option. He warned, “China is closing in fast. If they take the lead, everything we do will be meaningless.” Bessent also mentioned that the United States controlled about 55-60% of the world’s AI computing power last year and predicted that this proportion could reach 80% by 2028. He expects that the boom in AI spending to become “extremely deflationary,” and that productivity gains will begin to emerge within the next six months.
