Hyperliquid Expands into HIP-3, Launching a Permission Market
2026-09-03 23:03:43
According to CoinMeta, Hyperliquid has announced the expansion of its HIP-3 testnet, allowing independent deployment teams to control access to the perpetual futures market through managing an on-chain whitelist. Hyperliquid, co-founder Jeffrey Yan, stated that deployers will be able to create permission markets and manage participant lists without having to delegate access decisions to the Hyperliquid core development team. Future network upgrades will support optional deployer configurations, enabling U.S. investors or institutional investors with strict regulations to access specific markets. This design allows deployers to maintain a list of approved participants on the chain or designate sub-deployers to handle access. The first version of this feature is already available on the testnet, allowing developers to test the design before its release in production. Yan also mentioned that the specifications are still in the preliminary stage, and the team will make adjustments based on technical feedback received.
