Binance Issues an Important Warning: Beware of Phishing Text Message Attacks
2026-09-04 00:07:32
According to CoinMeta, Binance ( Binance ) recently issued an important warning, reminding users to be cautious of the increasing number of phishing SMS attacks. Binance stated that it has observed recent phishing attempts targeting users, with SMS messages pretending to be "security alerts" aimed at tricking users into providing access to their accounts. Binance emphasized that these messages are very realistic, often claiming that users' account settings have been changed or suspicious activities have been detected, and they induce users to click on links to fix their accounts. Binance advises users to be particularly careful when receiving unexpected security-related messages and to verify before clicking on any links. In addition, Binance also recommends that users enable a whitelist for withdrawal addresses to limit withdrawals to pre-approved addresses, and to activate anti-phishing code functionality to help identify legitimate Binance emails.
