According to CoinMeta, on Thursday, OpenAI released a new flagship model, GPT-6, claiming to have made significant progress in areas such as financial modeling and engineering design. Initially, the model will be available only to certain institutions, but it will later be made accessible to users of ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise, as well as users through API and Amazon Web Services. OpenAI indicates that GPT-6 and Astra have seen notable improvements in computer operations and software programming, and have reached the highest levels in FrontierMath Tier mathematical tests, ARC-AGI reasoning tests, and ExploitBench network security tests. Gregg Brockman, co-founder of OpenAI, stated that there is uncertainty regarding the timeline for achieving general artificial intelligence (AGI), but "looking back in a few years," this milestone "may very well be around this period, with this model." GPT-6 and Astra are priced at $10 per million input tokens and $50 per output token, which is 2.5 times the price of GPT-5.6 and SOL. In the future, the AI industry may shift to charging by task rather than by token.
