AMC CEO Adam Aron strongly opposes Robinhood's launch of AMC stock tokens
2026-09-04 18:23:03
According to CoinMeta, AMC Entertainment CEO Adam Aron issued a statement opposing the AMC stock token launched by Robinhood, claiming that AMC has no association with this product and has not authorized or endorsed such practices. They expressed strong dissatisfaction using terms such as "despicable, outrageous, disgusting, and unforgivable." Aron pointed out that the relevant stock token was not registered in accordance with U.S. securities laws and stated that they had already requested an external securities lawyer to review the matter. Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev subsequently responded in the comment section: "What are your concerns?" Official documents from Robinhood show that the stock token was issued by their Jersey Island entity and is a tokenized debt security linked to the underlying securities; it only provides economic exposure to the corresponding stocks and does not grant the holder actual ownership of the stocks.
