According to CoinMeta, Coinbase stock rose 10.14% on September 3, closing at $192.70, up from $174.96 on September 2, an increase of $17.74. The stock reached a intraday high of $195.85 during trading, and trading volume also increased significantly, rising from 5.2 million shares on the previous trading day to approximately 13.64 million shares. This rise coincides with the overall rebound of Bitcoin, Robinhood, and U.S. stocks. Coinbase's regulatory documents provided a company-specific catalyst for the stock's increase, although it was not explicitly stated that the perpetual contract plan was the sole reason for the rise. Coinbase also disclosed that its derivatives department submitted two registration notices on September 1, planning to launch single-stock perpetual contracts to U.S. customers. Chief Policy Officer Faryar Shirzad stated that these registrations are the first step, and further coordination with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission is planned.
